Iran's Parliament has given the vote of confidence to the candidate proposed by President Hassan Rouhani for the Health and Medical Education Ministry position.

Iran Press/Iran news: President Hassan Rouhani had nominated Saeed Namaki as minister of Health and Medical Education.

After extensive debates during the Parliament's sessions on Monday, Rouhani’s pick obtained the green light from the Iranian lawmakers, Iran news reported.

At the end of the session, Saeed Namaki received the vote of confidence with 229 Iranian lawmakers in favor, 25 against and 4 abstentions.

Rouhani appointed Namaki as acting health minister early in January, after he accepted the resignation of Health Minister Hassan Ghazizadeh Hashemi.
