Iran's Minister of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) said that space industry is demonstrating its achievement in many fields.

Iran Press/Iran news: The Minister of Information and Communications Technology (ICT), Mohammad Javad Azari Jahromi who attended the National Conference on Space Technology and its application said: "Nowadays, the space industry has many uses and applications, and we have to make the achievements of this industry tangible in our daily lives. Today, on the 40th anniversary of the Islamic revolution, the space industry is demonstrating its achievement in agriculture, environmental protection and water resource management."

Emphasizing that supporting and strengthening the space industry is of utmost importance, Azari Jahromi said: "All maritime communications, particularly in remote locations, are based on space technology and satellite communications, and the important point is that the Islamic Republic should have its own satellite communications industry,"  Iran Press reported.

Speaking to the reporters on the sideline of the conference, Azari Jahromi also said that the good experience of designing and location of the Payam-e-Amirkabir satellite was extremely valuable.

Azari Jahromi added: "problems of the satellite were discussed at a meeting of the Department of Defence, and then they were fixed, so we are waiting for the Department of Defence to declare the right time to put Friendship satellite which belongs to Sharif University in orbit".

Azari Jahromi reiterated that putting Friendship satellite in the orbit will have significant impacts in the fields of research.

Also, the Chancellor of the University of Science and Technology of Iran, Jabbar Ali Zakeri said that in recent years, Iran's  achievements in space science and technology have been quite remarkable.

Speaking at the National Conference on Space Technology and its application, the Chancellor of the University of Science and Technology of Iran said: "We hope that with support of Iran's National Space Agency and the Ministry of Information and Communications Technology (ICT), we feel the impact and presence of space technology in the daily lives of Iranian people".

Professor Zakeri added: "During these years we have achieved remarkable successes."
