Iran's top aviation official said on Wednesday that Iran's aviation industry observes and adheres to all relevant international safety and security standards.

Iran news: In an exclusive interview with Iran Press News Agency, the head of Civil Aviation Organization of Iran, Ali Abedzadeh explained that in the last four decades, substantial investments in infrastructure has been made, including in aviation industry, and in our national air transportation system.

The top aviation official went on to say that aviation industry is actually using this investment in infrastructure and is benefiting from this.

Abedzadeh added: "Today we are fully aware of international rules, regulations and standards of commercial aircraft. Through the efforts made by Iran's Civil Aviation Organization, our manufacturers are fully aware of international safety standards in the aviation industry, and these standards are observed in Iran's national aviation industry. We are moving forward at a good pace."

Turning to the issue of safety and security, Abedzadeh said: "Safety and security always go hand-in-hand in the aviation industry."

He added: "It is impossible to have safety without security, and it is equally impossible to have security without safety. They always go together."
