Iranian women national volleyball team

Iranian women's national volleyball team climbed 79 places to finish 39th in the annual rankings of the International Federation of Volleyball.

Iran Press/ Iran: The international governing body released its ranking on Saturday in which Iran women's national volleyball team along with France, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Fiji Islands and Slovenia stands at the 39th position, Irna News Agency reported.

China, Beijing Olympic champion, dropped to the second place and Serbia, world champion in 2018, climbed two places, jumping to the top of the rankings table.

The top 10, including three Asian teams are as follows:

  1. Serbia (322 points)
  2. China (320 points)
  3. The United States (256 points)
  4. Brazil (200 points)
  5. Russia (198 points)
  6. Japan (190 points)
  7. Netherlands (178 points)
  8. Italy (165 points)
  9. South Korea (138 points)
  10. Dominican Republic (108 points)

On Sep. 10, Iran's women volleyball won the silver medal at Szeles Péter Memorial tournament in Hungary.
