Keyvan Khosravi, a spokesman for Iran's supreme national security council has praised the cooperation between Iran, Russia, Turkey, Iraq, and Syria, arguing that the cooperation has been very effective and successful in fighting Takfiri terrorism.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Iran Press on Wednesday, on the sidelines of a two-day ‘Regional Security Dialogue’ meeting in Tehran, Khosravi praised regional cooperation between various countries in fighting Takfiri terrorism, emphasizing that so-called Western Coalition against Terrorism was disingenuous and little more than a media campaign to sway public opinion.

Keyvan Khosravi added: "The Western coalition weren't fighting terrorists at all, and in many instances members of this coalition were actually assisting Takfiri terrorists with funding, weaponry and other support."

Commenting on the presence of non-regional powers in the Middle East region, Khosravi said whenever outside powers have intervened in this region militarily allegedly to establish security, almost inevitably we have experienced insecurity and instability, with new security problems arising every day.

Khosravi pointedly added: "Afghanistan, of course, is an excellent case in point. In this conference we will be discussing the situation in Afghanistan."

Commenting on the conference itself, Khosravi said: "National security secretaries and advisors of Iran, Russia, China, India and Afghanistan, have taken part in the meeting, but in future gatherings we hope to invited other countries which are not represented here today."

The spokesman for Iran's supreme national security council said conferences such as these, where countries which are very active in fighting terrorism, can exchange ideas, experiences and pool their ideas and expertise to fight terrorism more effectively.
