Speaking to Iranian diplomats on Tuesday, president Rouhani has said US pressure and threats can be turned into an opportunity for development, progress and growth. The Iranian president added: "We can easily navigate our way through these turbulent waters".

In a meeting with 14 Iranian diplomats who have been appointed as new ambassadors to various countries, president Rouhani expressed satisfaction that a female diplomat, Parvin Farshchi , had been chosen as Iran's new ambassador to Finland.

He said:  "I am delighted to see that an Iranian woman has proven her talents and abilities as a diplomat, and has quite rightly been chosen as an ambassador.  What better antidote is there to the malicious and poisonous remarks of the enemies who often claim Islam and the Islamic Republic of Iran is against women attaining top jobs, or women being active in politics or diplomacy ? Your appointment as Iran's ambassador to Finland can do a great deal to counter the malicious propaganda campaign of the enemies."

President Rouhani went on to praise the foreign ministry for appointing well-qualified women and highly-qualified Sunni Muslims as Iran's ambassadors abroad.  He said this is a very good initiative and it should continue in the future based on merit !!

Meanwhile, Speaking in a meeting with British Ambassador to Tehran Rob Macaire on Tuesday, president Hassan Rouhani said: "Today, we are in a very critical point in history regarding the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and Europe's transparent measures in compensating for United States' illegal withdrawal from the nuclear deal is very important for the Iranian nation".

Giving some advice to the soon-to-be-ambassadors of Iran, President Rouhani pointed to the vital importance of economic and business ties between Iran and other countries , telling the diplomats:  "If each one of you takes just one step to strengthen and promote Iran's economic and business ties with the countries in which you will serve as ambassador, then indeed your contribution will be very significant."

The Iranian president went on to urge the diplomats to work hard to strengthen  Iran's political, economic and cultural ties with the country in which they will serve as ambassador.

14 Iranian diplomats, soon to be appointed as ambassadors to Poland, Japan, Vatican, Italy, Ireland, Slovenia, Kazakhstan, Finland, Lebanon, Ukraine, Mali , Columbia, Bulgaria, and Iran's permanent representative to the offices of the United Nations in Geneva, met and conferred with president Rouhani on Tuesday.

Speaking at the Reagan Presidential Library in California Pompeo said, the Trump administration will pursue a "diplomatic and economic pressure campaign" that will support what he called the "shoots of liberty" growing through the Iran's rocky soil.

Earlier, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said that Tehran has never bowed, and will never give in, to foreign pressures.

Addressing a group of Iranians living in Switzerland on Monday, president Rouhani said: "We have told all our friends abroad, that if they speak to the Iranian nation with the language of logic and respect, then we can solve problems together, whilst using threats, pressure and humiliation will never work against the people of Iran, and will result in a lose-lose  situation."
