On Saturday, 21 July, top students from 70 countries visited Iran's famous national museum of science and technology in Tehran.

The museum provides visitors insight into cutting-edge science and technology, with whole sections devoted to telecommunications and electronics, physics, astronomy (including a display of ancient astronomical instruments ), nuclear technology , indigenous technologies , medicine (including a display of ancient surgical instruments ) , and a science centre.

The museum which attracts tens of thousands of visitors each month is located in central Tehran. 

International students attending the 29th Biology Olympiad, were taken on a tour  of the national museum of science and technology on Saturday.  The visit was a welcome break from the tough theoretical and practical exams which the 280 students from 70 countries face, as individual students, and groups of students, compete with one another for the top prize of a gold medal at the Olympiad.

The International Biology Olympiad got underway in Tehran's Shahid Beheshty University on 15 July 2018 , and will continue until tomorrow, Sunday 22 July.
