Camel breeding in deserts of Yazd Province, central Iran, has boomed in recent years.

 The province of Yazd in Iran has the right conditions for breeding camel, a booming industry that can help create jobs  in  the central province of Yazd.

According to provincial officials some 500,000 hectares of desert lands in Yazd province have been allocated to camel farming.

The aim of camel breeding in this region of Iran is beyond  the sheer production  of meat and milk.The authorities say the have considered  other benefits, such as tourism.

The province of Yazd ranks third in Iran for camel farming.
