A senior commander of the joint chiefs of staff of Iran's armed forces, General Seyyed Mohammad Bagherzadeh , has emphasized that IRIB plays a key role in conveying the central ideas and messages of eight years of sacred defence to the wider world.

In an exclusive interview with Iran Press, the top commander of the joint chiefs of staff , in charge of the committee for searching and identifying soldiers "missing in action",  stressed that eight years of sacred defense, as Iran's resistance against Ba'athist invaders is often referred to, has now become a true role model for those countries which are today resisting the arrogant hegemonic powers (led by United States).

In further remarks General Bagherzadeh praised the IRIB for "relaying to the world the ideas of eight years of sacred defence".

In his visit to IRIB World Service on Sunday morning, General Bagherzadeh  was given a tour of  the News and Commentaries Department of the World Service, Iran Press news agency, and the Pars Today news website.  He also gained first-hand experience of news production, news reports, news analysis, and commentaries at the (IRIB) World Service.
