Professor Newman added:  "I am delighted to be able to participate in this conference..... Shiism is an international faith , which has made important contributions to human development and progress , and in particular, it has made a contribution to Islamic medicine , and Islamic thought, including "Fiqh"  and "usoul"".

In further remarks, Professor Newman said:  "I have done some networking here in Qom. I have met people from Qom , but also people from many different countries.  This conference has provided a great opportunity for networking, and I would like to thank those who invited me to attend this conference".
