Iran's foreign ministry condemned the 'biased' and 'unconstructive' statement of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on some regional issue, describing them as being against the goals of the organization.

Reacting to the latest anti-Iran statement by the OIC Secretary General Yousef Al-Othaimeen, Iran's foreign ministry spokesman Bahram Qasemi on Friday said, the irresponsible and ineptly-drafted statement is in violations of the neutrality principle of the OIC secretariat, and in coordination with the anti-Muslim policies of the US, the Zionist regime and the Saudi Arabian government.

Referring to the previous statements of the OIC secretary general, Qasemi said 'Al-Othaimeen has previously made such biased, unconstructive statements on the developments in the region, ignoring the influential status of the OIC in confronting the Zionist regime and in supporting the Palestine cause.'

'He is well-advised to give up his biased stances that are in favor of the global arrogance and the Zionist regime of Israel,' he said.

The Iranian diplomat also repeated Iran's suggestion of holding a high-level meeting of the member states of the organization in a venue outside Saudi Arabia to address the abuses of the regime.

Following the US withdrawal from Iran nuclear deal on Tuesday, the secretary general said the deal has not been effective in establishing security and peace in the region.

The nuclear agreement was signed by Iran and the major world powers in 2015. Under the deal Iran agreed to curb its nuclear program in exchange for economic sanctions relief.

Despite the withdrawal, the other signatories to the deal—UK, France, Russia, China and Germany—have said that they will continue to enforce the deal.
