Iran's Ministry of Health said it is prepared to send medical aid to Syria in case of any need.

Iran's Minister of Health Hassan Hashemi in separate messages to his Syrian counterpart Nizar Yazigi and the head of regional office of the World Health Organization (WHO) expressed readiness of Iran to send medical aid to Syria.

The messages were sent hours after the US and its European allies attacked targets in Syria.

The attacks were delivered by the US just hours after a team of fact-finding was sent to Syria by Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) to investigate the alleged chemical attack.

Washington claims that the attack was a response to an alleged chemical weapon attack near Damascus. The US blames the attack on the government of Syria.

The Iranian minister in his messages strongly condemned the aggression.
