Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Amir Hatami

Iranian Defense minister said that Washington's designation of the 'Islamic Revolution Guards Corps' as a 'terrorist organization' was a retaliation for the IRGC's fight against the 'Takfiri and Zionist terrorists' under US support in the region.

 

Iran Press/ Europe: Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Amir Hatami who travelled to Moscow at the official invitation of Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu to attend the eighth Moscow Conference on International Security, condemned US president Donald Trump policies against Iran and said: IRGC is highly popular in Iran and the region for defending country and help regional countries for fighting against terrorism, Iran Press reported.

Speaking at a meeting with Secretary General of the Iraqi Ministry of Defense Lieutenant General Mohammad Jawad Kazim in Moscow, General Hatami said Iran and its allies in the Middle East, especially Iraq will never allow outsiders to make unrest and insecurity to the region again.

Iran DM praised the current level of security and stability in Iraq and said: “The Islamic Republic of Iran is trying to help security and tranquility to be long-standing and permanent so regional nations, especially Iraq will begin to reconstruct in full security and without any foreign aggression or interference.”

“We will not allow insecurity to be imposed on the region by foreigners and aggressors again…,” the Iranian defense minister stressed.

Elsewhere in his remark Iranian Minister of Defense affirmed that the US President Donald Trump’s proclamation on the occupied Syrian Golan and his decision to move the embassy of his country to occupied al-Quds will pave the way for undermining the security and stability in the region.

The Iraqi top general, for his part, expressed his gratitude to the Islamic Republic for supporting Iraq's Army against ISIS terrorist groups and said two nations managed to counter the massive attacks by the terrorists and prevent them from reaching their goals.     

Brigadier General Hatami has travelled to Russia to attend the eighth Moscow Conference on International Security at the official invitation of Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu.

The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation has organized the annual conference in Moscow on April 23-25, 2019, according to its official website.

The conference agenda encompasses the problems of utmost significance in terms of shaping views on international security.

Separate plenary sessions offer space to exchange views on modern military challenges and threats, including the improvement of the arms control system. 101/205
