Iran Press/ Middle East: The Arab League said it will convene an urgent meeting over the weekend in response to US President Donald Trump’s self-claimed Israeli-Palestinian plan, according to an AFP report.

Hossam Zaki, Arab League deputy secretary, told reporters that Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas will attend to discuss the “so-called Deal of the Century.”

According to an Arab diplomatic source, the extraordinary meeting will be held on Saturday, Feb. 2 in the presence of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.

The extraordinary meeting comes in reply to a Palestinian request to the League, which is headquartered in Cairo.

Israel is the United States’ biggest regional ally and has vigorously been supported by successive American administrations.
