IP - Iranian President Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi on the occasion of the World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day, called on the global community to help to provide humanitarian aid to the besieged Gaza Strip.

Iran PressIran news: "This year we are celebrating the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Day while the people of Gaza are living in the most difficult conditions due to lack of access to water, food, medicine, and basic medical and health facilities. The provision of relief and necessary services to these people, despite the announcement of the readiness of the Red Crescent Society of our country, has unfortunately been obstructed by the Zionist regime," President Raisi said in his message.

In his message, which was read out by the president of the Iranian Red Crescent Society during a ceremony on Wednesday, President Raisi condemned the Zionist regime for obstructing life-saving aid and primary health and medical services to Palestinians in Gaza.

He urged the international community and all awakened human consciences to come to the aid of the oppressed Palestinian nation and alleviate the suffering of residents of Gaza.

The Iranian president said that Iran's Red Crescent Society was ready to send humanitarian aid to Gaza, but was facing "obstruction by the Zionist regime".

He regretted that the ruthless Israeli regime has not even spared members of international humanitarian organizations in its months-long aggression in Gaza.

The President added, "By honouring the Red Crescent Day, I seize the opportunity to once again call upon the world assemblies and all the awakened human consciences to help the oppressed people of Gaza and provide the grounds for sending humanitarian aid and reducing the human suffering of the people".

In the end, by congratulating the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Day to all the hard workers and activists in this field, he appreciated the efforts and effective services of all members of the big family of the Red Crescent of the country, and the increasing health and success of all volunteers, aid workers, staff, youth and activists in this field.
