Rasht (IP) - 1,200 masks are produced daily and distributed free to various strata for protection against the Coronavirus spread by the Razavi Youth Center of Hazrat Zahra (SA) in Rasht, central Gilan province, northern Iran.

Iran PressIran News:12 housewives produce 1,200 masks daily from 8 am to 8 pm at the center in Rasht and distribute them free of charge to municipality's employees, taxi drivers, bakeries and other needy businesses.

According to the latest report by Iran's Health Ministry Spokesman Kianoush Jahanpour so far 16,169 people infected with the Coronavirus across the country in which 988 people died because of the COVID-19 disease, since the outbreak of the virus and 5,389 people have recovered in total.

The new virus, that causes a respiratory disease known as COVID-19, emerged in the central Chinese city of Wuhan in Hubei Province late last year.

It has swept into at least 162 countries, infected more than 181,000 and killed at least 7,113 people worldwide.
