Afghan Ambassador to Iran Abdolghafour Lival

Afghanistan's ambassador to Iran said that the peace talks among the Afghan groups are the Afghan government's priority.

Iran PressIran news: Speaking at a meeting on "Developments in Afghanistan: A Look at the Structures" on Sunday evening in the Council on Foreign Relations, Afghanistan's Ambassador to Iran Abdolghafour Lival said: "Afghanistan has a high level of economic capacities and anyone can take the opportunity," adding that Afghanistan has changed a lot.

He also said that his country has educated people who seek their country's interests.

Afghan ambassador stressed that the Taliban must cut its relations with Pakistan, calling on Pakistan to respect Afghan sovereignty and the peace in the country.

He urged some regional countries to stop their proxy wars in Afghanistan given the country has suffered damages and losses in the wars.

Afghan envoy to Iran stressed that Afghanistan is an independent country and no one should interfere in its policies, pointing that the country has a long-lasting relationship with Iran and it will preserve the ties.

Earlier, Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani said that his country supports the peace process led by the Afghan government.

 

Iranian officials have repeatedly stated that the focus of Iran's efforts in Afghanistan is to establish stability and security within the Afghan government, and Tehran will not hesitate to do so.
