Brigadier General Hossein Dehghan

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution’s top military aide has said Iran will not negotiate with the Trump administration under any circumstances.

Iran Press/Iran news: “Tehran would not negotiate with the US administration under any circumstances,” a top military aide to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Brigadier General Hossein Dehghan said in an interview with Al Jazeera Television.

Dehghan stressed that the US President Donald Trump is desperate to make a contact with Iran and has given his number so that Tehran calls him, Iran Press reported.

He noted that negotiations don’t go together with sanctions, and because of this Iran can’t trust America.

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution’s top military aide further described the wrongdoings of the Zionist regime as an escalating factor that has increased tensions in the region in the period of Trump's administration.

Dehghan referred to the shooting down of the US spy drone, saying that it showed the world that the Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to defend its borders against any intruder including America.

He explained the reason for detaining the UK-flagged ship, saying it wasn't a military act.

"The oil tanker entered the Strait of Hormuz from the exit route and did not pay attention to any alerts, shutting down the Automatic Identification System (AIS) which is a dangerous action. So it was detained according to the international maritime law and regulations in the waterway."

Senior Iranian officials have already emphasised that it is impossible to negotiate under the pressure of sanctions and the US' economic terrorism must stop before talking about any negotiations.
