The Iranian Army's deputy commander, has emphasised that the presence of non-regional military forces in the Persian Gulf is totally unnecessary, does not help in establishment of security, and in fact causes insecurity in the region.

Iran Press/Iran news: In an exclusive interview with Iran Press News Agency on Friday on the sidelines of International Quds Day demonstrations and rallies, Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari emphasised that the Islamic Republic of Iran has proven that it is a peaceful nation, Iran wants peace in the region, this has been the case throughout the 40-year history of the Islamic revolution, Iran has never attacked or invaded any country, and this is not part of Iran's purely defensive doctrine.

The Rear Admiral pointedly added: "The enemies of the Islamic Republic however, want to create a climate of Iranophobia, Islamophobia, and Shiaphobia, so far without much success of course. This means that all Muslims of the region must unite and speak with one voice, they must work hand-in-hand, and they must consider this Islamic region as their own."

The deputy commander of the Iranian Army added: "The regional nations must not allow non-regional powers to come here from far away lands and claim they have come here to establish security for us. This is shameful and unseemly for Muslims. It implies that we are so incompetent, incapable and weak that other distant countries from far away must come here and establish security for us."

"Not only they are incapable of establishing security here, they plunder the natural resources of Muslim countries, humiliate and belittle us, and even cause insecurity and instability in this region," he added. 101/211
