Followers of Imam Hussein (PBUH) gathered at the Iranian Husseiniyeh "Ahlul-Bayt" in Baku and mourned the martyrdom of the chief of the martyrs Hazrat Aba Abdullah Al-Hussein (peace be upon him) as well as members of his family and companions who were martyred in the desert of Karbala, in Iraq, in the year 61 A.H.

Iran Press/Asia: Followers of the Holy Prophet's household, the Ahl-ul-Beit ( peace be upon them), from all over Baku, Azerbaijan, gathered at the mourning ceremony, and expressed their great sorrow by beating their chests , and chanting eulogies and lamentations on the occasion of Arbaeen, the 40th day after the martyrdom of Chief of Martyrs Hazrat Aba Abdullah Al-Hussein (peace be upon him) and his companions who sacrificed their lives for Islam.

Seyyid Ali Akbar Ojaghzadeh, the representative of the Leader in the Republic of Azerbaijan, referring to the millions of participants in the Arbaeen ceremony said, "this great presence of Shiites and Sunnis and even followers of other religions in Karbala, reflects the unity of Muslims." 

In spite of the negative propaganda of the enemies of Islam, Muslims come from different parts of the world, chanting "Labaik ya Hussein" (Ready to help you o' Hossein), showing their unity and solidarity to the world.

Leader's representative in the Republic of Azerbaijan added: "The magnitude of this unity must be considered and it is necessary to try to preserve it, because this unity is a prelude to appearance of the Imam of the Age, Aba Saleh al-Mahdi (may God hasten his reappearance).

Tuesday, 20th Saffar 1440 on the Islamic lunar calendar, corresponding to 30th October 2018, is the "day of Arbaeen", marking 40 days after the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussein (PBUH).
