Iran Press/ Iran News: Ebrahim Raisi, has traveled to Bushehr during the second round of provincial trips and for a two-day trip.
In his first program of the trip, he was present in the South Pars region in Asaluyeh, and officially opened and put into operation the phase 14 refinery of the huge gas complex.
Raisi says speedy exploitation of joint gas field, Iran's priority
Iran's President urged the speedy exploitation of the joint gas field accessible to Iran and its benefit for the country and called it a priority.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the South Pars Phase 14 refinery in Asaluyeh, Bushehr province Southern Iran on Thursday as part of his provincial tour President Ebrahim Raisi stressed the importance of speedy exploitation of joint gas field accessible to the country and considered it as the priority as well.
He further said the inauguration of projects like the South Pars Phase 14 refinery signals the fact that "we can" and shows the resolution behind it.
President Raisi went on to call the inauguration of such projects a good source of foreign currency earnings and the manifestation of Iran's self-sufficiency.
We are after strong Iran with strong economy
Raisi went on to say that he and his administration is after a strong Iran being formed out of a strong economy and active refineries and petrochemical industries.
He further said: "A country is not just after manufacturing missiles or establishing military-based industry, for achieving mere power, for whatever creates authority for the country is power."
With the exploitation of this phase, 50 million cubic meters of sweet gas, 400 tons of sulfur, 75 thousand barrels of gas condensate and one million tons of ethane, and one million tons of LPG are produced annually for petrochemical units.
The design and engineering, installation, implementation, and commissioning of the 14th phase of the South Pars Refinery, which is 100% Iranian and centered on the subsidiaries of the Ministry of Industry, Mines and Trade, has been implemented despite strict sanctions conditions.
South Pars Phase 14 is a producing conventional gas field located in shallow water in Iran and is operated by Pars Oil and Gas. The field is located in block South Pars Phase 14.
The spokesperson for the administration Ali Bahadori Jahromi announced on Tuesday that Raisi will travel to the southern province of Bushehr in the coming days to officially inaugurate the 14th phase of the South Pars gas field.
Describing Phase 14 as a project that has been developed by using the largest amount of domestic capacities in comparison with the other phases in the gas field, the spokesman said the daily output of gas in the new phase will stand at over 50 million cubic meters, valued at around $3.5 billion per annum.
He noted that the president will also open other projects in the coastal province, including water desalination plants, water transfer systems, and new housing projects.
The South Pars gas field, whose development has been divided into 28 phases, is located in the Persian Gulf straddling the maritime border between Iran and Qatar.
It covers an area of 9,700 square kilometers, of which 3,700 square kilometers belongs to Iran.
It is estimated that the Iranian section of the field contains 14 trillion cubic meters of gas and 18 billion barrels of condensates in place.
