Tehran (IP) - Major General Yahya Rahim-Safavi, the military advisor to the leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said in his speech in Alborz province that workers and employers are on the front line of the economic war, calling them the pioneers of the battlefield, and economic progress.

Iran PressIran News: "They are the pioneers of the country overcoming economic problems of the country," he added.

While criticizing wheat imports, Rahim-Safavi said: "Iran needs 11 to 13 million tons of wheat annually, we produce 5 to 7 million tons and import the rest, and this is not good."

He further added: "We don't only have oil and gas, Iran is a land where there are many minerals and if we can manage it properly, the problem will be solved."

"The enemy seeks to disappoint the workers and slow down the wheels of the economy. We can make the country the best in the West Asian region," Rahim-Safavi said, adding: "With the support of the government, we can export and transit goods from north to south and east to west, and we can earn 12 billion dollars a year.

Referring to Iran's capacities in trade interactions with its neighbors, including Iraq and Afghanistan, he also said: "Russia alone exports 222 billion dollars, and if we can transit 100 million tons of Russian goods through Iran, Iran will have a good income."

Former IRGC commander added: "If someone thinks that economic problems are only caused by sanctions and the reason for sanctions is resistance against the enemy, it is an unforgivable mistake. We must become strong and be able to overcome problems."

"We must secure our interests and national security in a tense world. We have to interact with the world, problems can be solved through interaction," added the top military advisor to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution.
