Tehran(IP) - The Spokesman for Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs reacted to the recent hostile reflection in Al-Nahar newspaper regarding Iran's influence, called it a mistake in translation, and said the country's regional role is in line with its national capacities and not shaped by any narratives or individuals' opinions.

Iran PressIran news: In response to a question about the Baghdad 2 summit and France's hostile approach to Iran allegedly claiming that the crises in the Middle East can be solved by reducing the country's influence, the spokesperson for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nasser Kanani in his weekly press conference on Monday said: "There are two different and contradictory narratives about the issue."

The alleged claims were reflected in the Lebanese newspaper Al Nahar and the French Daily of Le Monde.

He further considered these statements to be the result of a mistake in translation. He said: "French President Emanuel Macron says that the solution to the problems of the region is proportional to the influence that Iran has and cannot be solved without Iran, and we must pay attention to the original text, and we believe that the narrative of Al-Nahar magazine was translated incorrectly. However, it must be said that Iran's natural and effective role in the region is in line with its national capacities and is not shaped by the narratives of publications and individuals. It is based on the capabilities of the Islamic Republic of Iran."

Accusing others not to help Ukraine

The Spokesman for Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs rejected recent claims made by Ukrainian officials on Iran's supplying aid to Russia; he said that accusing others would not help Ukraine and would be constructive.

About the claims of the Ukrainian authorities regarding Iran's aid to Russia and the attack on UAV factories in Iran, Kanani said: "We have stated our position regarding Ukraine many times. We emphasize that accusing others will definitely not help Ukraine. We reject the accusations of the Ukrainian authorities. We emphasize again that we are not part of the war in Ukraine, and we are ready to help resolve the crisis and establish peace in Ukraine. We consider threatening literature from any authority to be irresponsible, and any political and legal consequences will be availed for the Ukrainian government."

Regarding the assassination of martyrs of the resistance and alleged claim on Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi's involvement, Kanani said: "I do not make any comment on this matter. we know they have officially assumed responsibility for the assassination and must be held accountable, and we will continue our various legal actions in this regard to hold the Us authorities accountable."

Iran to continue dialogue initiative in region

The Spokesman for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the initiative Iran took in the Tehran Dialogue Forum (TDF) was part of its approach to strengthening ties with its neighbors.

The third Tehran Dialogue Forum (TDF 2022), titled "Neighborhood policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran, an approach to friendship and trust building," and participated 70 political officials, directors of think tanks and research institutes, thinkers, and researchers from 36 countries was held in Tehran on Monday, December 19th, 2022.

He also said Iran would follow up the initiative for the next meeting and expressed hope that the constructive approach of other neighboring countries would welcome it.

Concerning Saudi Arabia's relations with the Israeli regime, Kanani said that Iran's position was clear: "We believe that the normalization of relations between the Arab and Islamic countries with the regime will not contribute to the stability and security of the region, and that experience has shown it will not contribute to the realization of the Palestinian people's rights."

He stressed that the Palestinian nation did not support the normalizations and that the region's nations also showed their opposition to some Arab states' normalization of ties with the Zionist regime, which could be observed during the 2022 Qatar FIFA World Cup.

"There we saw that, as the Zionists' authorities admitted, although the regime had no team in the World Cup, they were the losers in this arena, and it was the Palestinian nation that won the World Cup; this is the approach of the Muslim nations of the region," Kanani said.

Those who bet on Iran's internal developments; backing wrong horse

He added that if the governments have bet on Iran's internal developments for the nuclear talks, they have been backing the wrong horse; we told them not to sacrifice their interests.

He further stated: "The objections are related to Iran's internal issues, and the Iranian nation rejects foreign interference. Unfortunately, some Western European countries fan the fuels of the protests and turn them into riots, and this was their miscalculation. Western signs and confessions show that their calculations are wrong. They stated in some meetings that they were not looking for political change in Iran. I have to say that they were unable to do this and are biting off more than they can chew."

But the essence of this confession is disappointment with what they see inside Iran.

In response to a question about the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC)'s statement regarding the arrest of people affiliated with England, he also said: "During the recent unrest, some citizens of Western European countries were arrested, and some of Their cases have been completed, and some are in the investigation stage. Their countries have been informed, and meetings have been held. Unfortunately, some of these people were abused by other parties, and there is detailed information in this field. English had a non-constructive political role connecting with the recent developments and provoking and fueling extremism and riots."
