Isfahan (IP) - The Commander of the '1401 Joint Drone Drill' of the Islamic Republic of Iran Army said that Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) have a great role in improving the combat capability of the armed forces.

Iran PressIran News: The '1401 Joint Drone Drill' kicked off on Wednesday in the presence of the four branches of the army and the joint defense base in the north, south, west, and center of Iran.

The two-day exercise will be conducted with 150 surveillance and reconnaissance and combat drones in the north, south, west, and center of Iran.

According to Iran Press News Agency, Coordinating Deputy of the Islamic Republic of Iran Army and the Commander of the '1401 Joint Drone Drill' of the Army, Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari, said: "Today, the drones are a new phenomenon. Recently, the effectiveness of them in the crisis has been proven, such as in the war between the Republic of Azerbaijan and Armenia in Karabakh, the war between Ukraine and Russia, etc."

The Islamic Republic of Iran is not dependent on other countries to provide security, and all the equipment in the field of UAVs is produced domestically," Rear Admiral Sayyari noted.

The commander of the '1401 Joint Drone Drill' of the Islamic Republic of Iran Army stated that having a UAV capability contributes to the deterrence of the country and emphasized: "The security of the country and the region must be provided by the countries of the region. If others are going to establish security for the US, it is not establishing security, but it is "imported security" which is useless.
