Iran Press/ Iran news: Iran's Basij commander stressed that with the liberation of Khorramshahr, Iran became a safe place in the region and owed this security to the sacrifice and blood of the martyrs.
The "Great Maneuvour of Jihadist " was held on Sunday in the presence of Brigadier General Gholamreza Soleimani, Iran's Basij commander, and other senior Basij commanders in the holy shrine of Imam Khomeini (R.A), the great founder of the Islamic Revolution on the outskirts of Tehran.
Gholamreza Soleimani said: "The aim of the Mobilization Forces (Basij) is to eliminate the deprivation caused by the Pahlavi regime, and the US regime tried to prevent it by imposing an unwanted war, but the Iranian people from different strata and groups resisted this aggression, and thank God they won.
The Iran–Iraq War was a protracted armed conflict that began on 22 September 1980 with a full-scale invasion of Iran by neighboring Iraq. The war lasted for almost eight years and ended in a stalemate on 20 August 1988.
Iranian Basij commander noted: "In the imposed war (Iran-Iraq war), and due to the efforts of the Basij Forces, the enemy suffered a lot of damage.
Soleimani added: "Today, the Basij, with the support of the government and considering the many capacities in the country, has many plans and programs to eliminate deprivation, food security, industry and mining, agriculture and other areas."
He stated: "Basij has created new production capacities and with the aim of creating jobs, has supplied water to many villages and areas and built houses for the people in deprived regions."
The commander of the Basij, referring to the period of the coronavirus epidemic, pointed to the Basij's comprehensive efforts and said: "The Basij launched an admirable jihad to control the virus during the corona outbreak."
He stressed that the Basij belongs to all people and is taken from the people for the construction and development of Islamic Iran.
