Lahore (IP) - The National Disaster Management Authority of Pakistan (NDMA), in collaboration with Al-Khidmat Foundation, sent the 19th consignment of relief supplies to Gaza via a chartered flight.

Significance:

Pakistan relief aids along with those from other Muslim countries such as Iran, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia being sent to Gaza, but they are stopped behind the strip by the Israeli regime.

 

About the shipment: 

The relief consignment, which left Lahore Airport on Saturday, includes 100 tons of relief supplies. The relief supplies include flour bags, ready meals, cooking oil, jam and canned fruits.

 

The big picture:

Pakistan has so far sent a total of 1915 tons of relief supplies to Gaza through 19 relief consignments. The departure ceremony of this consignment was held at Allama Iqbal Airport in Lahore on August 23, in which Speaker Punjab Assembly Malik Ahmed Khan, representatives of NDMA, and Al-Khidmat Foundation were present.

 

Context: 

The Israeli genocide war on Gaza has left over 61,000 people killed due strikes, while the other survived are grappling with the sever famine due to the Israeli blockade on Gaza.
