Tehran (IP) - The 14th Summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) began on Thursday with the leaders of 10 member states.

Iran Press/Iran News:  The virtual summit is attended by Iran, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Turkey, the Republic of Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, and Tajikistan, hosted by Islamabad as chairman of the 13th ECO summit.

The theme of the summit is “Regional Economic Cooperation in the Aftermath of Covid-19”.

The meeting began with a speech by the Prime Minister of Pakistan as the previous meeting's chair.

The virtual summit of ECO member states continues with the election of the chairman of the 14th summit and his speech and the secretary-general of ECO. After that, the meeting agenda will be discussed for approval, and then the presidents of each member state and observer members and special guests will speak.

The ECO Summit will conclude with the signing of the Charter of the ECO Research Center in Baku and a speech by the president of the 14th Summit.

The President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Hassan Rouhani, is also among the summit speakers.
