Speaking at a press conference on the first edition of the Cultural and Public Diplomacy Award, Mahdi Imani-Pour said the world judges Iran based on the image presented of the country, while the enemy seeks to create a distorted image of the Islamic Republic by misrepresenting its beliefs and realities.
He said the story of the U.S.-Israeli war on Iran must be properly documented so that it could be accurately read and understood by future generations, urging everyone to play a role in this effort.
He further said that the first Cultural and Public Diplomacy Award will honor around 45 people, 15 foreign and 30 Iranian figures, for their contributions to presenting a positive image of Iran internationally. The awards will cover culture and art, heritage and tourism, and cyberspace, with the ceremony scheduled for September 1.
Imani-Pour also stressed that the Islamic world needs unity more than ever and said attacks against the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) whenever anti-Islamic actions are pursued demonstrate his central role in the Muslim world.
The Iranian top cultural official said Iran should actively present its narrative to global public opinion amid growing worldwide opposition to the U.S.-backed Israeli regime.
