Iran Press/ Middle East: Saeb Erekat, the executive secretary of the Palestine Liberation Organization and a senior Palestinian negotiator who had recently suffered from coronavirus, passed away on Tuesday.
Erekat was infected with the coronavirus on October 8 and had been hospitalized at his home in the West Bank until October 18, but was transferred to Hadassah Hospital in Al-Quds due to deteriorating physical condition.
He was 65 years old and had a lung transplant three years ago.
Saeb Erekat, a veteran Palestinian politician, has been a senior negotiator for years.
