Mashad (IP) - Ta'zieh, mourning, and lamentation (mournful songs) for Imam Hussein (AS) were held on the night of the sixth of Muharram at Imam Reza (AS) Stadium in Mashad, the capital of Khorasan Razavi province, northeastern Iran.

Iran Press/Iran News: The mourning ceremony for Imam Hussein (AS) will continue from the first of Muharram for ten nights until the tenth of Muharram (August 30, 2020) at the Stadium.

Following the outbreak of the coronavirus, the mourning ceremony of Imam Hussein (AS) will be held in the open air, observing health protocols and social distancing.

59 places have been identified for holding the ceremonies.

The situation in Mashad is still red due to the spread of the coronavirus and the use of masks is still mandatory.
