During the meeting in Tehran, Mohsen Rezaei described Pakistan’s government, army, and nation as great assets of the Islamic world. He expressed satisfaction with the recent regional engagement of Pakistan's prime minister and army chief, adding that major Islamic countries, including Iran, Pakistan, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Indonesia, have a duty to pursue Islamic unity. Rezaei also noted that President Pezeshkian pays special attention to Pakistan and believes that the bilateral trade volume must increase. Highlighting the exemplary affection between the two peoples, he reiterated that all Iranian leaders have historically considered Pakistan as Iran’s strategic depth, and vice versa.
For his part, Pakistan’s Interior Minister Syed Mohsen Raza Naqvi praised Rezaei’s experience and intellectual capacity, stating they can facilitate lasting regional security and peace. Naqvi noted that while bilateral relations have always been excellent, they have reached a historically unprecedented level in recent months. He credited Iran’s president, foreign minister, and interior minister for driving this progress. Pointing to the massive mourning ceremonies held in Pakistan for Iran's martyred Leader as a sign of peak solidarity, Naqvi stressed that this deep bond must translate into greater cooperation and tangible results, expressing confidence that shared goals can be achieved through the strong resolve of both nations' leaders.
