Shiraz (IP) - The Nasir al-Mulk Mosque, also known as the Pink Mosque, is one of the historical and the most spectacular mosques which not only attracts the tourists from Iran but from all across the world.

Iran Press/Iran News: One of the most elegant and most photographed pieces of architecture in southern Iran, the Pink Mosque was built at the end of the 19th century and its colored tiling,(an unusually deep shade of blue is exquisite.

Located in Shiraz near Shah Cheragh is a funerary monument and mosque, The Nasir al-Mulk Mosque is one of the oldest ones in Shiraz dating back to 1926.

The unique architecture of the pink mosque includes spectacular tile works with natural and various colors being used for coloring them.

Symmetrical tiling which is seen in all parts of the Nasir al-Mulk Mosque is one of the most attractive forms of tile works and one of the architectural masterpieces in Iran.

Carved stone columns inspired by vakil mosque in Shiraz have been formed out of two senary rows yielding to a total of 12 spiral columns representing 12 infallible Shi'a Imams.

Furthermore, 7 wooden doors with colorful windows together with sunlight and the reflection of colors on the columns and the tiles make the mosque significantly the eye-catching one.
