Tehran (IP) - Iran is not responsible to act based on what the US says, and the US' behavior is illegal and unilateral, Foreign Ministry spokesman Seyyed Abbas Mousavi said on Monday.

Iran PressIran News: Mousavi in his weekly press conference on Monday answering Iran Press correspondent’s question on the message that the oil tankers conveyed when arrived in Venezuela, said that what happened was a legal and based on international trade regulations and is the Islamic Republic of Iran’s right.

The US has the habit of bulling, but Iran and Venezuela did not pay attention to it, Mousavi noted.

This trade represented that this is Iran‘s right to defend its rights and we will continue this trend, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Seyyed Abbas Mousavi further stated.

"If the Venezuelan government requests a new shipment, we will send it to this country or other countries," Mousavi noted.

The two first Iranian tankers that discharged fuel last week departed over the weekend from state-run PDVSA’s ports.

The Islamic Republic of Iran has sent five fuel tankers to support the Venezuelan government and people, which are under US economic siege.

The shipments have caused a diplomatic standoff between Iran, Venezuela, and the United States as both nations are under US sanctions.
