On the opening day of the Asian Ju-Jitsu Championships in Almaty, Kazakhstan, Iranian athletes successfully clinched one gold and two bronze medals.

Amirabbas Raeisi delivered an outstanding performance to win the gold medal in the 77 kg category, while his compatriot Amirsalam Mastbandzadeh secured the bronze in the same weight division.

Zahra DarAli in the 57 kg category also won another bronze medal for the Iranian national team. 

Meanwhile, Abolfazl Norouzi competed in the under-21, 62 kg category but finished without a medal.

The tournament will resume tomorrow, with three remaining Iranian athletes—two in the 85 kg and one in the 94 kg category—stepping onto the mat.
