The protesters denounced the airstrikes on the army, raising Yemeni flags and banners with anti-UAE slogans and the subversive roles of Mohammed bin Zayed in southern Yemen in support of separatist militias, and persistent attempts to divide Yemen.

Also on Saturday, members of the Yemeni community in Washington and New York, USA, held vigils in front of the White House and in front of the UN headquarters to denounce the crimes committed by the UAE against the national army. Saudi Arabia, backed by the United States and United Arab Emirates, launched a devastating war on Yemen in March 2015 which has so far killed more than 60000Yemenis, injured tens of thousands of others, and displaced millions from their homes. Food shortages, medicine shortages and cholera epidemics have wreaked havoc in Yemen, mainly because of a Saudi-imposed total land, sea and air blockade of Yemen.

UN-led negotiations to establish a ceasefire in Yemen have been unsuccessful mainly because of Saudi Arabia's intransigence and refusal to end the war. 203/208
