Iranian Army unveils Kian drone

Coincided with Iran's Army Aerial Defense Day, a domestically-made 'Kian' drone was unveiled in a ceremony.

Iran Press/Iran news: In the ceremony held on Saturday, Iran's Army Aerial Defence Commander, Brigadier General Alireza Sabahifard said that the martial defensive drone has been designed in two types; one with the high-speed operation of intercepting and detecting targets, and the other with high flight persistence for carrying out precision-guided missions.

Advanced with drone power, Kian drone promotes aerial-based defensive capability in the air defence force, General Sabahifard said, Iran Press reported.

"This advanced drone has been designed, manufactured and tested in about one year by the young experts of the drone unit of the army air defence force, under the command and support of the order of the Iranian Army's Commander-in-Chief," the General stressed.

With its high flight persistence, 'Kian' is capable of hitting much more distant targets, beyond Iran's borders, carrying out missions within enemy soil.
