Iranian President has said that the country is looking for developing relations with Asian countries such as Singapore which has a special place, given its high commercial and economic potential.

Iran Press/ Asia News:  Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, who is in Armenia to attend the Eurasian Union summit, described Iran-Singapore relations as positive and constructive. 

"Singapore has great trade and commercial potentials. However, the economic ties between the two countries are not commensurate with the many capacities that exist, and we must strive to bring the volume of trade to a desirable point," the Iranian president told Singapore’s Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong in Yerevan on Tuesday.

Referring to the cooperation between Iran and Singapore in the context of the Eurasian Economic Union, Rouhani said, "This cooperation can be a good opportunity to develop bilateral relations, especially in the economic field."

Singapore is seeking to develop bilateral relations with Tehran.

Singapore's prime minister said the two countries have always enjoyed friendly and constructive relations. "Unfortunately, the volume of economic relations between the two countries has declined, which we are willing to improve it."

Singapore PM, said his country is willing to develop bilateral relations with Tehran.

Referring to Iran's nuclear deal, Lee Hsien Loong also emphasized that his country wants full respect for international regulations and commitments.

Singapore PM also added: "Failure to fully implement the Iranian nuclear agreement is regrettable, and we hope that necessary steps to be taken to fulfill the obligations of all parties to this agreement." 207/219
