Iranian Defense Minister Amir Hatami met and conferred with Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz in Nouakchott.

Iran Press/Africa: Iran’s Defense Minister Amir Hatami arrived in Nouakchott on Wednesday at the head of a high-ranking delegation, and met with Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz.

The Mauritanian Defense minister was also attended the meeting, Iran Press reported.

After the meeting, Iran’s Defense Minister Amir Hatami said to reporters that Africa and Mauritania have an important role in Iran's foreign policy.

"In the meeting with president and the Defense minister of Mauritania, we discussed about all the mutual interests and the potentials for further cooperation between the two countries," Hatami noted.

There is a good opportunity for the bilateral cooperation between Mauritania and Iran.
