US President Donald Trump, who has his signature on "maximum pressure" sanctions against Iranians, in a twitter post supported recent violent unrest following the petrol price rise in Iran.

Iran PressIran news: Trump whose government unilaterally withdrew from the 2015 nuclear agreement with Iran and imposed sanctions on food and medicine items claimed on Thursday that shutting down of the Internet in Iran was because the country had become unstable.

The government had limited Internet so that Iranians could not talk about the situation in their country, he claimed neglecting the fact that it was a move to stem security threats against the public.

Earlier, US Special Representative for Iran Brian Hook admitted that Washington had a role in recent riots in Iran over the petrol price rise by providing communication means and shortcuts.

Also, US Vice President Mike Pence and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo in interfering statements have supported violent acts of setting fire on gas stations and cars and destruction of banks and public property by the rioters.
