US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has again accused Iran of sponsoring terrorism and claimed that Iran is the main source of instability in the Middle East.

Iran Press/Iran news: In a post in his twitter account, Pompeo also said he met French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian and they discussed a range of issues including Iran.

Twisted in complications over the testimony of US ambassador to Ukraine, the former spy chief has drummed up rhetoric against Iran. On Thursday he met his Saudi counterpart in Washington after which Pompeo said they will increase cooperation against the Islamic Republic.

Iran says it is supporting Lebanese Hezbollah and Palestinian groups that are resisting Israeli regime's occupation and state-terrorism.

Pompeo's recent anti-Iran accusations in which he mirrors US President Donald Trump have stepped up after Washington unilaterally withdrew from an internationally acknowledged nuclear deal in 2018 and reimposed sanctions against Iran.

Iran has condemned the US policy of resorting to sanctions as economic terrorism against civilians.
