Iranians in the capital mark Arbaeen observing health protocols

Tehran (IP) - Under the shadow of the coronavirus outbreak, the people of Tehran marked Arbaeen. Restrictions of the pandemic have prevented Iranian pilgrims from traveling to Karbala to participate in Arbaeen processions like past years. Arb'aeen is the commemoration of the 40th day after the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussein (AS) in the battle of Karbala in 61 AH (680 CE) against the tyrant of time Yazid ibn Mu'awiya ibn Abi Sufyan. 214/205

Arbaeen is an important ritual forty days after the Day of Ashura, which Shiites commemorates the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (PBUH) and 71 of his companions in the Battle of Karbala in 61 AH (680 CE) by Yazid, the tyrant ruler of that time. 214/205
