Tehran (IP) - Spokeswoman for Iran's Ministry of Health, in her presser said, so far, 298, 909 people in the country have definitely been infected with the coronavirus, and 259, 116 of the total infected people have recovered and discharged so far.

Iran Press/Iran News: Spokeswoman for Iran's Ministry of Health Sima Sadat Lari on Wednesday reported the latest data on the coronavirus in the country and the deaths caused by the virus.

She said: "According to the definitive laboratory findings and from yesterday to July 29 in the country, 2,636 new patients with COVID-19 were diagnosed in the country and the number of patients with this disease reached 298,909."

1,604 of the new patients were hospitalized, Lari reported.

The Spokeswoman said, "Unfortunately, in the past 24 hours, 196 COVID-19 patients have lost their lives, and 16,343 people have lost their lives in the country to date." 

4, 027 COVID-19 patients are in critical condition.

"So far, around 2,405,862 COVID-19 diagnosis tests have been conducted in the country," the Health Ministry spokeswoman said.

According to the spokeswoman, the provinces of Tehran, East Azerbaijan, Ardabil, Isfahan, Alborz, Ilam, Khorasan Razavi, Kerman, Golestan, North Khorasan, Semnan, Lorestan, Hormozgan, and Fars provinces are in the red alert.
