A Qatari minister said on Thursday that the Arab nation will never forget Iran's support after the economic siege of his country.

Qatari Minister of Municipality and Environment Mohammed bin Abdullah bin Al-Rumaihi made the remarks in a meeting with Deputy Minister of Agriculture Jihad Ali-Akbar Mehrfard on the sidelines of Qatar International Agricultural Exhibition (AgriteQ 2018) in Doha.

Hailing Iran's stance during the economic siege of Qatar, he added that the Islamic Republic is deemed as a 'regional power'.

Al-Rumaihi also appreciated Iran for allocating its ports for exporting commodities to Qatar.

Qatari Minister of Municipality and Environment called for expansion of mutual transactions, expressing hope that mutual trade could hit one billion dollar in near future.Mehrfard, for his part, said Iran enjoys great capacity in producing agricultural, horticultural and animal products.

Al-Rumaihi added that Iran's laws support foreign investment, urging Qatari businessmen to make investment in the neighboring Iran.

Mehrfard also invited the Qatari minister to pay an official visit to Iran in near future.

Accusing Qatar of backing terrorism, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, UAE and Bahrain have cut their relation with Doha and closed their sea, air and land borders with Qatar.”
