The Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) has said that a U.S. air base used as the launch point for an attack was struck at 04:50 local time, following an aggression by the U.S. military on a location near Bandar Abbas Airport in the early hours of Thursday.

In a statement, the IRGC said the response was a "serious warning" to the enemy, stressing that any act of aggression would not go unanswered and that any repeat attack would be met with a more decisive response.

"The responsibility for the consequences lies with the aggressor," the statement added.

Separately, the IRGC said that at 03:35 this morning, four vessels attempted to pass through the Strait of Hormuz and enter the Persian Gulf without coordination with Iranian security forces. After repeated warnings were ignored, warning shots were fired, forcing the vessels to turn back.
