Why it Matters:
Israeli attacks on Lebanon are a blatant violation of humanitarian laws that emphasize protecting medical staff, while Israel pursues these personnel and turns them into military targets.
The big picture:
In its latest report, Lebanon’s Health Ministry said that from March 2 to May 29, 3,355 Lebanese citizens have been killed in Israeli attacks.
Zoom in:
An Israeli strike on the area of Al-Abbasiyah in the Tyre district also resulted in the martyrdoms of three people, including a Syrian citizen, and injured one other person.
In an Israeli attack on the area of “Tayr Diba,” four people were martyred and two others were injured.
What we're hearing:
Lebanon’s Ministry of Public Health’s Emergency Operations Center said that in an Israeli attack on the area of “Maaroub” in the Tyre district, four people, including a rescue worker, were martyred and five others were injured.
According to the Lebanese Health Ministry, 10,095 Lebanese citizens were also wounded during the same period.
State of play:
Despite the ceasefire, the Israeli regime has continued its attacks on villages and towns in southern Lebanon. In ongoing violations of the ceasefire, Israel targets homes and civilians, while the international community has remained silent in restraining the regime’s killing machine.
