The president of the Iranian Wushu Federation added: " Gushtingiri is defined as a subcategory of Wushu, and with the recognition of this sport, Iran will have a better presence in the next rounds of the World Gushtingiri Championship.

The first round of the World Gushtingiri Championship was held from August 28 to 31, 2024 in the city of Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan.

Gushtingiri, the national sport of Tajikistan, is a form of traditional wrestling, but in Iran, it operates under the supervision of the Wushu Federation and Kurash Association.
