Tehran (IP) - Iran's Chamran 1 Satellite was launched into space by the ‘Qaem 100’ satellite carrier and was placed in a 550-kilometer orbit.

Iran PressIran news: The satellite, designed and built by Iranian Electronics Industries (SAIran) and the cooperation and participation of the Aerospace Research Institute and knowledge-based companies, was put into a 550-kilometer (340-mile) orbit.

The main mission of this 60-km satellite is to test hardware and software systems to prove orbital maneuver technology in the height and phase.

The submission of the Chamran 1 satellite includes the evaluation of the cold gas propulsion subsystem in space systems and the performance of situation control and navigation subsystems.

The ‘Qaem 100’ satellite carrier was designed and built by the specialists of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Aerospace Force.

In its second orbital operation, it was able to successfully complete the Chamran 1 satellite orbiting operation.

Iran is among the 10 countries with knowledge of space technology and is the 11th country in the world in terms of space science and the leading country in the region.

The country launched its first satellite, called Omid (Literally meaning hope), on February 3, 2009, designated this day as 'National Space Technology Day'.
