Iranian Foreign Minister said that the role of the US dollar in international transactions is diminishing.

Iran Press/ Iran news: Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said on Monday that recently, Russia and China agreed to conduct their transactions without dollar, adding: "Last year, 35% of our trade transactions with Turkey was done without dollar, Even the UAE and India, which are the US’ allies, have decided to ditch dollar for part of their business," Iran Press reported.

Making remarks at a ceremony marking the National Day of Industry and Mine Zarid continued: "We need to rely on domestic productions to further diminish the impact of the US dollar on our economy." 

Talking about the EU’s announcement that its trade mechanism for Iran, dubbed INSTEX (Instrument in Support of Trade Exchanges), has become operational, Zarif said: "Although INSTEX is not what we wanted and it is not a sufficient answer to Europe’s compliance with its commitments, but it has a strategic value, which is the fact that the US’ closest allies are distancing themselves from Washington."

Zarif also went on to say: "Through the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) agreement the power of Iran had been increasing and it's made the US angry so that the US president Donald Trump imposed more economic sanctions against Iran which we can remove them by relying on our internal capabilities.

Pointing to the Syria and Yemen, Iranian Foreign Minister stressed that the US has been defeated in the international arena and in the region and we will definitely defeat the administration's plots in its last battlefield which is economy.
