Tehran (IP) - Iranian health minister said Iran has significant achievements in medicine, and the country possesses an advanced modern healthcare and medical industry.

Iran Press/Iran news: Saeed Namaki said on Tuesday that now 97 percent of needed medicines are produced inside the country.

Speaking in Razi conference hall, Saeed Namaki asserted: "I am glad to say that patients in Iran do not have to go abroad for their medical treatment, because all high-quality medical services are offered to patients here in this country," Iran Press reported.

In further comments Namaki said: "Hospitals must focus on medical tourism and encourage our private sector to invest in this sector."

The health minister continued by saying: "We are capable of training specialists in the world, so by focusing on medical tourism we can attract and invite many patients to be treated in Iran from all over the world."
