Kish (IP) - Executive manager of the second international Health 'Hackathon said that universities are important as producers of technology-oriented industries.

Iran Press/Iran news: Talking on the sideline of the second international Health 'Hackathon' programming competition in Kish Island, the executive manager of the second international Health 'Hackathon' Dr. Ali Selkghafari said: "For this marathon, four major health challenges which are among non-contagious diseases have been considered."

In an exclusive interview with Iran Press on Sunday, the head of International Campus at the Sharif University of Technology in Kish Island Dr. Selkghafari said: 60 percent of the world's population, and 70 percent of Iran's population suffer from one or more of cancer, cardiovascular diseases, respiratory diseases, and diabetes, added that these are very serious health-threatening diseases.

Noting the importance of these challenges in the healthcare sector, Dr. Selkghafari stressed that the output of the 2019 Hackahealth must be in the fields of prevention, training, diagnosis, and treatment in which knowledge-based products may help to decrease healthcare costs and increase the effectiveness of medical treatment for patients.

The 'Hackathon' started on Saturday at Sharif University of Technology International Campus on Kish Island, in southern Iran and will continue until Monday 29 April 2019.   208/211/103
